Automation Technician Full Time

RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a talented Automation Technician to join our client’s team in New Germany, KZN. This role is perfect for an individual with a strong background in industrial automation who thrives on solving complex problems and ensuring optimal equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Attend to automation and instrumentation breakdowns in a timely manner
• Install, commission, and maintain automation systems on mining or industrial equipment
• Diagnose and repair PLC, VSD, and electrical control systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency
• Program and optimize control systems for operational improvements
• Assist customers with technical advice and provide ongoing support
• Collaborate with the project team on new installations and upgrades

Requirements

• Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
• Proven experience as an Automation Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, VSDs, and industrial automation systems
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring schematics
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
