SQL Database Administrator Full Time

RPO’s client is actively seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our client in Sandton, Gauteng. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated database professional to manage, optimize, and maintain critical database systems. If you have experience in database administration and a strong understanding of SQL-based technologies, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain SQL databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Manage database integration and reporting services.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot T-SQL or PL/SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Monitor and enhance database performance by analyzing and tuning queries and indexes.
• Ensure database integrity, security, and compliance with best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support business applications that rely on database services.
• Assist in database architecture planning and capacity forecasting.
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
• Work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure system efficiency and reliability.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in database administration.
• Strong knowledge of Integration and Reporting Services (for MS-SQL).
• In-depth understanding of database technology architecture.
• Strong T-SQL or PL/SQL development skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Vendor certification in Database Administration is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux (for Oracle-based environments).
