Site Manager (Building) – Construction Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable building contractor in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team on a large-scale construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring quality delivery, and driving programme performance from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily site activities on a major building project
• Manage subcontractors, labour, and site resources effectively
• Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements
• Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship, particularly on finishing works
• Monitor site progress and implement corrective actions where required
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and consultants
• Manage site reporting, documentation, and progress updates

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Building/BTech degree in Construction Management or similar
• Minimum 8 and 10 years’ proven experience as a Site Manager on building construction projects
• Strong background in commercial building projects and high-end finishes essential
• Experience on large government or institutional projects advantageous
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination, and subcontractor management
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
