Shift Supervisor Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join a leading mining company based in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the shift, ensuring efficient productivity and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of mining personnel on a designated shift
• Monitor production levels and quality standards to ensure targets are met
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
• Train and mentor mining personnel to improve performance and promote a positive working environment
• Coordinate with other supervisors and managers to optimize production schedules and resolve any issues that may arise

Requirements

• Matric/ other relevant qualification
• Blasting Certificate (DMRE) or MQA but the MQA certificate must have been obtained before 17 April 2017
• Driver’s License is mandatory
• Advantageous to have a course in First Aid, Safety, Legal Liability, Fire Fighting and HIRA
• Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in open pit mining
• 2 – 3 years in a Supervisory role
• Strong abilities in people management
• Effective communication
• Proficient planning and organising
