Senior Accountant Full Time

A dynamic financial services company is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with strong technical expertise in accounting, reporting, and compliance. The role involves managing daily accounting operations, payroll, reconciliations, and preparing for audits while ensuring accuracy and adherence to statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Process nominal transactions and review the general ledger for anomalies.
• Compile journals for corrections, accruals, and provisions.
• Perform VAT reconciliations and submissions to SARS via e-filing.
• Reconcile balance sheets, creditors, and intercompany charges.
• Prepare management reports, site cost analyses, and cashflow forecasts.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and validate fixed assets annually.
• Review payroll entries, process management payroll, and submit EMP201/EMP501 to SARS.
• Manage year-end processes and prepare for audits.

Requirements:

• Accounting degree with completed SAIPA/SAICA articles.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Ability to manage high volumes, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Self-starter with adaptability, energy, and confidence.
• Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Pastel Partner, Pastel Payroll, SimplePay, QuickBooks Online, and SARS e-filing.
