Screed Operator – Pietermaritzburg Full Time

RPO Recruitment is actively seeking experienced Screed Operators to join our client’s team based in Pietermaritzburg. Responsibilities:

• Operate screed machinery to lay and level asphalt or concrete surfaces according to specifications
• Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and finish quality
• Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment to prevent breakdowns
• Ensure surfaces are prepared appropriately prior to screeding
• Work closely with site supervisors and other team members to meet project timelines
• Adhere to safety protocols and site regulations at all times
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment usage

Requirements:

• High school certificate or equivalent
• Proven experience operating screed machines in a construction environment
• Familiarity with road surfacing and paving techniques
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of screed equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor environments
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards
