SAIPA Trainee Full Time

Our Client who is a well-established firm of chartered accountants and registered auditors in Pretoria is seeking to employ a bright and independent trainee who wants to qualify as a Professional Accountant (SAIPA).

Main responsibilities: 

• Capture transactions in accounting records.
• Perform reconciliations.
• Perform bookkeeping to trial balance.
• Interpreting clients’ accounting records and compiling annual financial statements (IFRS for
• SME’)
• Performed tax calculations and completed income tax returns and provisional tax returns.
• Perform VAT and PAYE calculations to submit returns on E-filing.
• Assist Accountants with various client matters, including administrative work.
• Resolve queries.
• Performing tasks required in terms of the SAIPA competency framework.
• Any other tasks related to the role.

Requirements:

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be very comfortable with, and have a general understanding of, computers and software, with
• an ability to learn new software quickly.
• Have a working knowledge of Word and Excel. Experience with Draftworx, Xero, and Pastel is
• advantageous but not required.
• Have solid analytical ability and work well under pressure while maintaining high levels of
• accuracy and quality of work.
• Be deadline-driven and able to work independently without constant supervision.
• Have a strong desire to learn and develop in the position in line with furthering your traineeship.
• Great bill of health, both physically and mentally.
• Be studying towards or possessing a BCom Degree or similar qualification.
• Valid Driver’s license (will be a great advantage) and own reliable transport
