Job Title: Resident Engineer (Roads)
Location: Durban, South Africa
RPO Recruitment, are seeking a motivated and experienced Resident Engineer to join our client’s team in Durban. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of roads in the Durban region. They will work closely with contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
– Oversee the construction and maintenance of roads in the Durban region
– Monitor progress of construction projects and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
– Coordinate with contractors, local authorities, and stakeholders to address any issues or concerns
– Manage project budgets and resources effectively
– Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to management
– Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to on site
– Conduct quality control checks on equipment and materials used in construction projects
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
– At least 5 years of experience in road construction and maintenance
– Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to road construction
– Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
– Valid driver’s license
