Quantity Surveyors | Civil Construction (Roadworks) Full Time NEW

Our client, a well-established company within the civil construction industry, is seeking experienced Mid- to Senior-Level Quantity Surveyors to join their team on site-based projects across South Africa. The successful candidates will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on roadworks and associated infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Quantity Surveyors with a strong civil construction background to take ownership of project cost control, contractual administration, valuations and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.
• Minimum 5–8 years’ relevant experience within the civil construction industry.
• Proven experience in the commercial management of civil engineering projects.
• Strong experience in measurement, valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Sound knowledge of construction contracts and contractual administration.
• Experience in roadworks is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to earthworks, pipelines, bulk water, reservoirs, stormwater and/or municipal infrastructure will be beneficial.
• Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Ability to work effectively in a site-based environment.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in relevant Quantity Surveying and commercial software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with Contract Managers, Site Agents, Engineers, clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of civil construction projects.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure to ensure effective cost control.
• Conduct measurements, valuations and payment assessments.
• Manage variations, contractual claims and final accounts.
• Prepare accurate commercial reports and financial forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
• Work closely with site and project teams to identify and manage commercial risks.
• Monitor subcontractor accounts, payments and contractual deliverables.
• Support the successful financial and commercial delivery of projects.
