Professional Civil Engineer/Technologist – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable firm in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector in KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a Civil Engineer or Technologist who is ECSA registered to support a growing portfolio of infrastructure projects.

Newly registered professionals are encouraged to apply, provided they have the technical proficiency and drive to deliver high-quality design and project management services.

Responsibilities:

• Road Design: Geometric and pavement design for urban and rural roads
• Stormwater Design: Hydrological assessments and stormwater management systems
• Pipeline Design: Water, sewer, and stormwater pipeline layout and specification
• Project Management: Coordination of resources, timelines, and deliverables across multiple project stages
• Preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Liaison with clients, contractors, and local authorities
• Site inspections to ensure adherence to design standards and contract specifications

Requirements:

• BSc/BEng or BTech degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in the engineering consulting sector
• Registered with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (recent registrations welcome)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other civil design software
• Understanding of South African design standards, municipal guidelines, and project lifecycle processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
• Exposure to municipal infrastructure projects
• Ability to work across multiple project teams
• Familiarity with tender documentation and contract administration processes
