Mechanical Engineer/Technologist – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a renowned and well established mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm in Cape Town is currently seeking to employ a qualified Mechanical Engineer or Technologist who can join their team as soon as possible. 

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Lead Engineer and Design teams for Building Services Projects
• Compile/Prepare design documentation for various building services projects
• Manage and contract supervision of Building Services projects
• Report writing, compiling of technical specification and bills of quantities
• Prepare contract documentation
• Site assessments and surveys
• Liaise with clients, staff, and other professionals from inception to handover phase
• Report to the Department head
• Liaise with Clients to derive project scope and budgets
• Interact internally with fellow project team members to ensure a coordinated effort on projects
• Develop detail designs from concepts
• Carry out research as required to perform such designs & specifications
• Oversee CAD/Revit personnel to translate designs into professional engineering drawings/models
• Be part of a team preparing and delivering complex Revit/BIM models, and associated AutoCAD engineering drawings
• Report writing and keeping of minutes/notes of meetings
• Write and compile specifications
• Call for tenders and adjudicate with tender reports
• Contract administration (technical & financial)
• Conduct Site inspections to ensure quality of work and resolve technical problems

Requirements:

• BTech/BSc/BEng degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in the mechanical building services industry
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Proven experience working in the consulting engineering field
• Experience and aptitude in Revit Modelling and workflows will be an advantage
