Intermediate Structural Engineer – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, an established engineering company is seeking a technically capable Structural Engineer for its Secunda operation. The role will suit a driven engineer who wants to broaden their experience through involvement in industrial and mining-related projects, while gaining valuable exposure to projects beyond the traditional design office.

The position combines engineering design with practical project involvement and provides a platform for continued professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop structural engineering solutions for assigned projects.
• Complete design calculations and supporting technical documentation.
• Assist with engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues arising during construction.
• Participate in site inspections and project-related assessments.
• Coordinate structural requirements with other engineering disciplines.
• Communicate with project stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are understood.
• Maintain a high standard of engineering quality across all deliverables.

Requirements:

• NQF Level 8 qualification such as a BEng/BSc Honours in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 4–6 years of relevant industry experience.
• Previous involvement in structural engineering projects.
• Competence in structural analysis and design.
• A proactive approach to technical problem-solving.
• Willingness to spend time on project sites and travel when necessary.
• An interest in pursuing professional registration.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
