RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Epping, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, promoting a culture of safety, and driving safety initiatives across multiple sites.
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Develop and deliver safety training and induction programs.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and occupational diseases.
Maintain and update emergency and safety procedures.
Liaise with relevant authorities on safety matters (e.g., Department of Employment and Labour).
Monitor contractors and vendors to ensure safety compliance.
Assist in maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems.
Requirements:
National Diploma in Safety and/or Environmental Management or equivalent.
Certificate in safety management (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH IGC).
3–5 years’ experience in a full-time health & safety role in an industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of the OHS Act and applicable regulations.
Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
