Electronics Technician Contract

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join our client’s team at their Distribution Center in Cape Town, conveniently located near the airport. This is a permanent role, ideal for a skilled professional who is eager to contribute to the smooth operation of a leading company’s supply chain. If you have a solid background in electronics, PLC systems, and automation, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic systems within the distribution center
• Repair and replace faulty electronic components and systems to ensure minimal downtime
• Collaborate with the team to implement automation processes and preventative maintenance strategies
• Ensure all work is documented, including maintenance schedules and repairs made
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean, efficient work environment
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems
• Support with PLC programming and diagnostics as required

Requirements:

• Minimum NQF Level 3 qualification (essential)
• Red Seal Trade Certificate (essential)
• Proven experience working with PLC systems and automation processes
• In-depth knowledge of conveyor belt systems and preventative maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle (essential)
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety and efficiency
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
