A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman to produce detailed, production-ready technical drawings and support product development within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
Producing accurate and detailed technical drawings from concept through to complete 3D manufacturing drawings
Interpreting client requirements and translating design concepts into production-ready drawings
Designing, rendering, and detail designing of components and full assemblies
Collaborating closely with Design and Production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability
Updating and maintaining drawing registers and documentation control systems
Revising and reworking existing designs based on client or production feedback
Providing technical support to production, sales, and manufacturing teams
Conducting site measurements and assisting with prototyping when required
Liaising with suppliers regarding component specifications and material selection
Researching, designing, and developing new product concepts
Ongoing product development and enhancement of existing product ranges
Preparing cost estimations for new and existing designs
Comparing estimated versus actual project costs upon completion
Performing all additional duties related to the role
Requirements:
Relevant technical qualification (Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical or Architectural Draughting)
Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial design environment
Strong understanding of steel structures, joinery, plumbing systems, 12V electrical installations, solar panel integration, and mechanical components
Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (verbal and written)
Advanced computer literacy (MS Excel and CAD software such as AutoCAD and Inventor)
Own reliable transport
