A fast-paced food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Commercial Assistant with strong administrative and analytical skills to support the Commercial Account Manager. The role involves sales reporting, pricing and promotional administration, system management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure accurate execution and strong customer service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and track new product sales performance post-launch.
Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and category analysis.
Prepare ad hoc commercial reports, board reports, benchmarking reports, and performance trackers.
Update and communicate promotional calendars and manage promotional documentation.
Complete and verify promotional contribution calculators and pricing templates.
Maintain and distribute accurate price files, including new launches, upgrades, eliminations, and configuration changes.
Verify BOMs and recipe sheets against approved costings and report discrepancies.
Track promotional performance and reconcile contributions and billing totals.
Communicate order fill rates, supply challenges, and discrepancies to customers and internal stakeholders.
Attend and document commercial meetings, distributing minutes and action trackers.
Escalate client queries and manage communication between customer and internal teams.
Work across multiple systems including ERP and supplier portals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, planners, site teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Support the Commercial Account Manager in achieving financial targets, cost containment, and forecast delivery.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Retail Management, Technology, Culinary, or relevant tertiary qualification (minimum 3 years).
Minimum 1 year experience in a similar commercial or administrative role.
Experience within the food manufacturing or retail industry.
Experience working in a matrix structure.
Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability.
High proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Customer-focused with strong relationship-building capabilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure with resilience and adaptability.
