Civil Technologist – Consulting Industry Full Time NEW

RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established civil engineering consulting firm based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technologist to join its growing team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater, municipal services, earthworks, and residential and commercial developments, while gaining valuable exposure within a professional consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects
• Prepare civil engineering drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Undertake stormwater, roads, earthworks, and municipal services design
• Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, specifications, and tender documentation
• Perform quantity calculations and compile Bills of Quantities
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress
• Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams
• Assist with project administration and contract documentation
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and municipal requirements

Requirements:

• BTech in Civil Engineering
• Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technologist or Professional Engineering Technologist will be advantageous
• Minimum 3–8 years’ relevant consulting engineering experience
• Desired experience in roads and transportation infrastructure, stormwater management systems, sewer and water reticulation, earthworks and site development, residential, commercial, and municipal infrastructure projects
• Construction monitoring and contract administration experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Experience in civil infrastructure design and draughting
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s licence
