Civil Land Surveyor – Construction Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable civil engineering contractor in South Africa is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join its team in Durban. This opportunity is ideal for a surveyor with a strong background in civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform site surveys, setting out, and survey control for civil construction projects.
• Establish and verify survey control points, benchmarks, and levels.
• Carry out as-built surveys and prepare accurate survey records.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure works are set out in accordance with design specifications.
• Monitor construction tolerances and verify completed works.
• Process and manage survey data using relevant surveying software.
• Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Ensure surveying equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operating correctly.
• Maintain accurate survey documentation and reporting.

Requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related qualification.
• 5–10 years’ land surveying experience within the civil construction industry.
• Proven experience on civil infrastructure projects such as roads, earthworks, pipelines, bulk services, or bridges.
• Proficient in modern surveying equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and Digital Levels.
• Experience using surveying software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre, or similar.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and survey principles.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work on site in and around Durban.
