Bridge Engineer – Consulting Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established firm in South Africa is seeking a qualified Bridge Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in either Centurion, Durban or Cape Town, contributing to both local and international bridge projects.

This role involves the design, construction monitoring, and maintenance of bridges, while supporting project teams and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead bridge design and project management activities.
• Provide technical guidance and oversee quality and productivity of team outputs.
• Liaise with clients and ensure projects comply with technical standards and codes.
• Conduct inspections, assessments, and prepare design/feasibility reports.
• Produce cost-effective design solutions, tender documentation, and manage construction monitoring.
• Implement quality management systems and mitigate project risks.

Requirements:

• BSc/BEng or BTech in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Professional registration (Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng)
• 5–7 years’ experience in bridge projects
• Proficient in Sofistik, Midas Civil, PROKON, or similar software.
• Strong structural analysis skills and attention to detail.
