RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for an Underwriter to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of focus, attention to detail, and relevant industry experience. The role encompasses underwriting and claims responsibilities within the commercial insurance division.
Responsibilities:

Commercial and personal underwriting

Marine underwriting (advantageous)

Quotations for new business
-
Policy amendments and endorsements
-
Assist with policy renewals
-
Conduct pre-renewal discussions and negotiations
-
Instruct insurers to renew policies
-
Prepare and bind presentations (PowerPoint)
-
Review loss ratios
-
Update motor vehicle values
-
Prepare renewal comparisons for client presentations (Excel)
-
Capture amendments and renewals on the Ski Host System
-
Compile and forward relevant correspondence and supporting documentation to clients
Requirements:
-
Matric
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the insurance brokerage industry
-
Experience within an insurance brokerage is essential
-
Knowledge of exchange control (advantageous)
-
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
-
Strong product knowledge; marine knowledge is an advantage
-
RE5 certification
