Trainee Accountant Full Time

RPO Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to join our client’s team in Gauteng. As a Trainee Accountant, you will be provided with valuable training and hands-on experience to develop your skills in the field of accounting. You will assist with financial statement preparation, perform audits, and support general accounting tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about pursuing a career in accounting and want to grow professionally in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts
• Perform audits and assessments of internal controls
• Contribute to general accounting tasks including reconciliations and journal entries
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax returns
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• Recently completed or working towards a BCom degree in Accounting or a related field
• Strong academic track record, particularly in accounting and finance subjects
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is advantageous
• Working towards a qualification such as a CTA wanting to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) is advantageous
