Senior Professional QS – Renewable Energy Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable and well established company in South Africa is currently seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the cost and contract management of a portfolio of renewable energy projects for an established EPC contractor.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the financial performance, risk management, and commercial integrity of multiple utility-scale solar PV, wind, and BESS projects across Southern Africa.

Requirements:

• BSc/BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial management in the construction or EPC industry
• Pr QS registration advantageous
• Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of both subcontract and self-perform delivery models in the infrastructure, building or industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of contract law and standard forms such as FIDIC, NEC, or JBCC
• High level of proficiency in cost control and commercial reporting tools (e.g., CCS Candy, Excel)
• Experience with claims management, dispute resolution, and contract negotiation
• Ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Experience working for or with EPC contractors on solar PV, wind, or BESS projects.
• Familiarity with procurement and logistics in the South African context.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to adapt processes and proven methods of traditional QS functions improve accuracy and speed of project commercial analytics.
