Job Title: Scheduler/Planner
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

RPO’s client is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduler/Planner to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling and planning activities of our company to ensure efficient and effective operations. The Scheduler/Planner will work closely with various departments to develop and maintain schedules, monitor progress, and resolve any potential conflicts. This role requires excellent time management skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the master schedule for the company’s operations, taking into consideration available resources, deadlines, and business requirements.
• Collaborate with the sales, production, and operations teams to gather necessary information for scheduling purposes and to align production with customer demands.
• Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to meet production targets and deadlines, recognizing potential conflicts and proactively finding solutions.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to align their schedules with the company’s operational needs.
• Communicate schedules and delivery timelines clearly and effectively to all relevant stakeholders, including management, staff, and customers.
• Generate and maintain accurate reports and documentation related to the scheduling and planning activities, ensuring data integrity and timely updates.
• Evaluate the performance and efficiency of existing scheduling systems and processes, suggesting improvements or modifications as necessary.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in scheduling and planning to continually improve processes and optimize resource allocation.
• Provide training and guidance to staff members on scheduling software and tools, ensuring proper utilization and adherence to established protocols.
• Participate in regular meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any scheduling conflicts, operational issues, or resource constraints.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in scheduling and planning roles within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software and tools to develop and manage schedules.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles would be an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong ethical conduct, integrity, and commitment to professionalism.
