RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Registered Nurse – Theatre to join their team in Bellville, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient safety and support throughout the perioperative period.
Responsibilities:
Deliver clinical care in accordance with the relevant Scope of Practice
Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring sterile fields and effective instrument handling
Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Supervise and orientate junior staff and nursing students
Administer intravenous and intramuscular medication competently
Ensure effective stock and equipment control within the theatre
Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and best practices
Requirements:
Current registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in an Operating Theatre
Qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science (advantageous)
Proficient in theatre scrubbing across various disciplines
Effective communication and relationship-building with stakeholders and doctors
Willingness to work overtime, standby, and call shifts
