Job Title: Procurement Specialist

RPO Recruitment’s client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team in Olifantsfontein, focusing on the Food and Beverage industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, with extensive knowledge of sourcing and negotiating contracts within the food and beverage sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for food and beverage products in line with company objectives.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and terms for food and beverage products.
- Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure quality and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Analyze market trends and industry data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to coordinate procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste and obsolescence.
- Stay current on industry regulations and standards related to food safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, specifically in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships.
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software applications.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
