Operating Room Practitioner and Operating Department Assistant Full Time

RPO’s client is seeking an Operating Room Practitioner or Operating Department Assistant to join their Day Hospital in Somerset West. This is an urgent requirement with opportunities for locum staff, permanent placements, and fixed-term contracts. The role involves assisting in surgical procedures and ensuring a safe and sterile environment in the operating room. Immediate availability from Thursday, 15 August 2024, is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during operations, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, providing necessary care and support.
• Ensure the proper handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols within the operating room.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

• Qualified Operating Room Practitioner or Operating Department Assistant.
• Previous experience in an operating room or surgical environment.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to start from Thursday, 15 August 2024.
• Flexibility to work 30 or 36-hour positions, as needed.
