Mechanical Engineer – Cement Full Time

A dynamic mine based in the Limpopo has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer – Cement. The successful candidate in the cement industry, will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our plant equipment and to ensure that the organization’s mechanical systems and processes are effective, efficient, and aligned with business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the execution and the quality of maintenance work to be carried out on mechanical equipment, respecting budget, policies and deadlines.
• Design, develop, and implement mechanical solutions to improve plant performance and reduce downtime
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including crushers, kilns, and conveyors
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and improve safety standards
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment failure
• Provide technical support and training to production staff
• Contribute to the field, to the development of working methods and definition of procedures and ensure their implementation.
• Optimise maintenance operations, using best available tools and procedures in order to maximise equipment availability.
• Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources. Assign and review work to perform with the craftsmen.
• Ensure completion of major operations within schedule (yearly overhaul).
• Ensure, upon completion of repairs, that equipment is in good operating condition, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe.
• Provide reporting on repair jobs including consumption of materials, specific tools, man hours and skills, and fills equipment history files.
• Take adequate actions when mechanical incidents occur.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• 5+ years of experience in the cement industry or a related field
