Junior Rock Engineer – Mining Industry – R1Mil – R800K Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client is a leading mining company in the Northern Cape. They are urgently seeking the expertise of a Junior Rock Engineer to join their team of professionals in Kathu. The Junior Rock Engineer will assist the team in designing and supporting stable excavations in rock.

Responsibilities:

• Strata control inspections
• Incident investigation
• Rock engineering input
• Geotechnical data
• Slope stability analysis
• Monitoring
• Limit blast quality assurance/ quality control
• Mining control of special areas

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Degree in Rock Engineering / Geology / Mining
• Completed at least 2 Rock Mechanics Certificate Modules
• Strata Control Certificate
• 7 – 10 years’ strata control experience in an opencast mining environment
