Junior Quantity Surveyor (Roads & Earthworks) – Construction Industry Full Time

RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Gauteng, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction projects across Gauteng and neighbouring provinces is currently seeking a hardworking and motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities.
• Measure quantities on-site and from drawings for interim valuations and final accounts.
• Support the procurement process for subcontractors and materials.
• Monitor project costs and assist in preparing cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify measured work.
• Liaise with site managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Assist with the preparation of payment certificates for subcontractors.
• Support with change management, including assessing variations and claims.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Civil/Building or BTech/BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role
• Exposure to large civil engineering projects (bulk earthworks, roads, township services, industrial developments, concrete works, pipelines, culverts, etc.)
• Proficiency in MS Excel and general MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of CCS Candy
• Understanding of civil construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel to various project locations.
• Eager to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits:

Salary:  R240K – R300K CTC per annum
