Footwear & Accessories Buyer – Cape Town Full Time

As the Footwear & Accessories Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality products that meet market demand, managing supplier relationships, and maximizing profitability through strategic purchasing decisions. Your keen eye for trends, along with your analytical skills, will contribute to the success of the brand in this competitive sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and customer preferences within footwear and accessories.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing and terms to achieve optimal results.
• Select and purchase merchandise that aligns with the company’s brand identity and sales strategies.
• Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and turnover rates to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with the marketing and merchandising teams to create successful promotional campaigns.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on sales data and forecasts to support decision-making.
• Ensure timely delivery and quality of products through effective supply chain management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in buying or merchandising, preferably within the footwear and accessories sector.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with retail management software.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong passion for fashion and in-depth knowledge of current trends in footwear and accessories.
