A reputable credit risk management and financial services company is looking for an experienced Debt Recovery Specialist with strong knowledge of debt collection processes and legal recoveries to improve client cash flow and minimise financial risk through proactive debt recovery strategies.
Responsibilities:
Achieve monthly debt collection targets and maintain operational effectiveness.
Manage new and existing collection matters (retainer and ad-hoc clients).
Assess legal documentation and load complete matters onto the system.
Contact debtors, negotiate payment arrangements, and issue letters of demand where required.
Ensure accurate and timeous system updates, including notes, payments, and correspondence.
Manage industry stop listings, adverse listings, and insurance claim processes.
Liaise with attorneys, credit insurers, and other third parties regarding legal collections.
Produce client reports and keep Credit Risk Advisors informed of progress.
Requirements:
NQF qualification, diploma, or degree advantageous.
Experience in debt collection, credit risk, or financial services.
Understanding of legal collections and insurance processes.
Strong computer literacy (MS Office) and administrative skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
