RPO Recruitment’s client, a renowned and well established engineering consulting firm in the Western Cape is currently seeking to employ an experienced Civil Engineering Technologist who can join their successful team in Cape Town as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will support the planning, design, and implementation of building civils on civil engineering projects, with a strong focus on bulk earthworks, municipal services, roads, stormwater, and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and detailing of civil engineering projects, including roads, stormwater, water supply, and sewer systems and bulk earthworks design
- Prepare engineering drawings, documentation, and reports using CAD and civil design software
- Conduct site inspections and assist with contract administration and quality control
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Provide technical support during the construction phase and resolve site-related issues
- Ensure compliance with SANS, municipal bylaws, and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the preparation of tenders, cost estimates, and feasibility studies
Requirements:
- National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering
- 3–5 years of relevant civil infrastructure design and site experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software
- Knowledge of relevant South African design codes and municipal standards
- Registered or eligible for registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist
- Valid South African driver’s license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with government or municipal clients advantageous
- Practical knowledge of project lifecycle from concept to commissioning
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
