RPO Recruitment’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of an Auto Electrician in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of auto-electrical equipment within the auto-electrical discipline according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in ensuring that all TMM auto electrical equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards
- Ensure that all assessments of potential hazards of the operation of equipment and installations are undertaken in accordance with procedures
- Maintenance and repairs of all TMM auto-electrical equipment in the open cast mine, specifically with regards to the following: generators, ADTs, excavators, graders, dozers etc
- Ensure fixed mobile, and transportable TMM auto electrical equipment associated with hot work or live testing, installed, or operated are suitably certified in line with operational standards.
- Ensure that equipment is safe and suitable for use in the opencast mine
- Ensure that the maintenance and overhaul of TMM auto electrical equipment installed and/or operated or intended to be installed and/or operated is in accordance with relevant standards
- Align with planned maintenance, including the maintenance of relevant records for all auto electrical equipment and installations in responsibility
- Adherence to policies and procedures
- Ensure effective communication with relevant stakeholders to minimise production delays
- Upholding of safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM
- Maintenance of the Khanye Colliery/Siding back-up generators; lighting plants and pit pumps auto electrical systems
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Qualified Auto-electrician Trade Certificate through a recognised institution
- Valid driver’s license
- TMM mining equipment experience
- At least 2 years proven experience in an engineering workshop, preferably in the mining environment
- Sound knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repairs of Fuel Automation Systems; PDS, PDI, camera’s, lighting circuits of diesel machines & real-time systems
